Looking for a sprocket kit front and rear with new chain for my 06 zx6r I’m looking to get a little bit more pull with out giving up to much top end speed. Would like to know what size I should get and any reccomendations on brands. I’ve been looking at the vortex kits

I would imagine the best place to find sprockets and chain for your ZX6 would be your friendly local Kawasaki dealer.

if the chain and rear sprocket are ok just get a new front sprocket with one less tooth, this should improve things without being too radical.

Isnt it important to let the oil circulate and warm up?

One type of metal heats up faster than another and expands faster.
Aluminum heats up faster than steel.
Aluminum pistons expand faster than the steel cylinders.
The piston to cylinder clearance is reduced causing a "cold seizure"

You’re correct about letting the oil circulate.
Camshafts aren’t bathed in oil like crankshaft bearings.
It’s takes about 30-60 seconds for oil to be pumped to
the top end and lubricate the cam journals.

Yes, you should let the oil circulate before revving the piss out of your bike.You do not need to let the bike warm up fully before riding it, it will actually warm up faster if you drive away gently for a few miles.

Some people just can’t wait to hear that expensive exhaust system they installed on their bike and they seem to need people to look at them.

It’s the plastic piece with fins on it underneath the starter recoil. I broke the entire thing off and I can’t find another on. Will it damage anything to ride without it?

This is your cooling system, your engine will over heat without it.

I was mainly wondering for CA. I don’t want to have to pull the system off to pass smog. I also am wanting to put it on my 6.4 powerstroke.

Most things from the 1960′s are rare, especially a scooter. I’t would be hard to guess the price not knowing the shape it is in. But if it is good you could be looking at a nice piece of change.

I have a 50cc peugeot trekker, and had it some time now, but in the last 2 months the front brakes have started to seize up like someone is slowly putting pressure on the brake till i come to Holt
this is what information i have for you about it:
Only the front brakes do it (Disks)
The brake rotor gets really hot (Burning my hand hot)
Once I let it cool down its fine to ride

How can i fix this so its fine again ?

There’s three or maybe four things it could be.The little return orifice in the master cylinder is plugged and not letting fluid return to the reservoir.

The fluid could be contaminated with moisture, causing corrosion and causing the piston to not retract. (Been there, done that.)

The square edged rubber seal around the piston is swelled and therefore locking the piston in place and not letting it retract.(I had that avery problem 3 months ago.)

The rubber brake hoses are old and the interior lining is swelled and not letting fluid return to the master cylinder.(I’ve had that happen several times on cars but not bikes.)

1 Could be warped discs,- pads rubbing without being applied, if so replace the discs and pads if need be.
2 Calipers stuck slightly on, ie not releasing. Could be caused by corrosion, need stripping and cleaning, not a job for a novice.

Please tell me you don’t jetwash your bike! oops too late.

The caliper could be sticky. Once the pads get too hot the fluid boils and jams the brakes on. Happened to my truck.
